I am 22-years-old and a recent graduate of Michigan State University, where I got my bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. I am currently a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition when I am on my way toward becoming a certified Health Coach. In addition to my passion for health and wellness, I also do public relations for a real estate company in Detroit, Michigan. I love my job because it allows me to put my writing skills to good use, meet and work with many amazing people, and be involved in the revitalization in Detroit.

I absolutely love to cook (and bake, blend, etc.) I became interested in veganism in September 2013, when I first learned of this lifestyle’s profound effect on athletic performance, and currently eat a plant-based diet about 95% of the time. I love cooking whole food, plant based meals and baking healthy desserts for my family and friends. A couple of summers ago, I even started my own business where I sold “cookies” at my local farmers’ market.

When I’m not in the kitchen, you can find me at my local health food store or farmers’ market. From dark leafy greens to maca powder, I love learning about different “super foods” and natural remedies and the effect that they have on the body. My father is a chiropractor and that has certainly sparked my interested in natural medicine and healing.

And if you can’t find me in a market of some sort, you can most certainly catch me on the move. I love exercising and being active; I run, walk, bike ride and do yoga. I also fancy myself an amateur photographer and a social media maven, I take pictures of everything and love sharing them. Last spring, I ran my second half marathon and was featured on one of my favorite blogs, No Meat Athlete, about how much my half-marathon time improved on a vegan diet!
