Growing up, I was a berry smoothie girl. Nothing was better than a fruity strawberry banana smoothie. As I began to dive more into the health and wellness world, I now prefer green smoothies, without the tartness of berries or any fruit that would compromise that beautiful grass green hue. Recently, I began to add avocado to my smoothies, for an extra green boost, a dose of healthy fats and a creamy texture that’s simply to die for.
Here is my go-to creamy green smoothie recipe, that tastes like a delicious healthy milk shake.
-1.5 frozen bananas
-A handful or two of greens fresh or frozen; such as kale, spinach, chard, or collard greens
-1/2 cup- 1 cup of almond milk, just enough to get everything moving in the blender
-A splash of vanilla extract
-1 tsp. maca powder (optional)
-1 tsp. spirulina (optional)
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
